I have seen a lot of students out there, making it real big, especially academically, and what does that mean? It means you also can.
Whenever I ask students how they make it, their answers have always revolved around one thing, and that is their good reading plan.
What is a reading plan?
A reading plan is a plan devised for reading, that is, when you choose to read, how you choose to read and what you read against.
You see, those guys that top the class aren’t just doing that by chance, a good reading plan is their secret.
So how can I develop a good reading plan?
Well first, you see the word “develop” goes a long way, it means it’s not a one-time achievement. Diligence is all you need. In this article, I’ll be giving you two different plans, but because we vary in nature, the plans might not directly work for you but you can manipulate it to suit your taste.
Listen to what Henry said:
I wake every weekday by 4:00am, do some exercise to get sleep off my eyes then start reading the day’s subject till 7:30am. So, while my mates are hastily flipping through their notes for an impromptu test, I’ll just smile to myself.
Are you an heavy sleeper who waits until 8:00am to get off bed? Well that has got to end.
You’ve got your phones, don’t just chat and surf the internet, set alarms. And when you’re awake what do you do? Sleep again? Definitely not, you’ll do what they do, you start reading, get yourself ready for any test. Let this be your regular doing. It helps a lot.
In this morning sacrifice reading plan, you’re less likely to be disturbed or distracted. So, maximize it by critically reading. This is what the so-called Brilliant ones do. You can’t keep doing this and still remain academically poor.

You can also plan to read in daytime. Unlike the early morning plan where sleep might be the only challenge, the daytime sacrifice has even more especially disturbance from friends, but still, it’s the best time to read (for me).
After class hours, seat back and sturdy. Go to the school library or a quiet place, think about those words that motivate you, let them be your charge. Read all you can.
Even though it’s boring and seems you’re not getting it, just keep reading, it’s a sign that you’re on the right path, good things are usually boring to do.
Those brilliant ones don’t spend their daytime by going to parties, watching television all day or playing video games, even if they do, plan A is their secret. This is what most average students don’t know.
