HOW TO BALANCE RELATIONSHIP AND ACADEMICS

Image
Before I begin this article, I’ll want you to know this: _________________________________________ Your relationship is your priority but your studies is your top priority. Efzibarh. _________________________________________  Of course, we teenagers (or youths) fall in love at certain points in our lives especially in high school (I fell too). But it saddens my heart when teenagers get so engrossed in their partner that their studies suffer for it. They forget why they are in school. They don’t know how to balance their relationship and academics.   Here’s from John: We’ve been doing so well together until final year(senior). Few weeks to exam, she sadly told me that we cannot continue the relationship anymore as her family is moving permanently to Germany. Since then I’ve been so moody, the feeling of ‘you might never see her’ broke my heart. Barely could I read two lines without thinking about her. When my results were out, I had an ‘E’  in math....

BUILDING CONCENTRATION IN CLASS

Image
To begin this article, I’ll want you to know this: _________________________________________ Have a concentrated mind, it's the mind of the successful. Efzibarh.  _________________________________________   Developing a concentrating mind in class has always been a challenge to many students especially when the class is boring. This has made many students remain academically poor because when there’s no concentration, there’s no learning.    Well, in this article, I’ll be showing you various ways to help concentrate in class but they can only help if you’ll pave way for it.    A student, Ella said:   Whenever I try to concentrate in class, I end up doing otherwise, every sound fades away gradually as my mind drifts into various thoughts. I jerk back into reality when I’m being hit or shouted to. At the end, I gain little or nothing at all.    So what exactly is concentration? It is state of concentrating, that is, ...

HOW TO GET ALONG WITH TOUGH PROFESSORS OR LECTURERS

Image
Of course, every school or college has that one professor that acts really difficult to get by(just kidding). Before I begin to talk more about them, I want you to know this: _________________________________________ T ough teachers aren’t really tough, it’s just the paradigm difference. Efzibarh. _________________________________________ Let’s read the minds of a lecturer and a student: Student : this man is just wicked, I was just three minutes late and he wouldn't collect the assignment! Lecturer : this kid needs to know what it means to be a minute late, only if someone had taught me how to be time conscious, I wouldn’t have lost a job that pays twice as much as this.    So you see, they might not actually be as tough as you think, just take your time to study their dos and don’ts.    I was just in college when this happened:     We had a professor who lectured civic education, our seniors refer to him as the toughest le...

HOW TO DEVELOP A GOOD READING PLAN

Image
Before I begin this article, I want you to know this: _________________________________________ P lanned Readers are truly Life Planners. Efzibarh.  _________________________________________    I have seen a lot of students out there, making it real big, especially academically, and what does that mean? It means you also can.   Whenever I ask students how they make it, their answers have always revolved around one thing, and that is their good reading plan. What is a reading plan?    A reading plan is a plan devised for reading, that is, when you choose to read, how you choose to read and what you read against.    You see, those guys that top the class aren’t just doing that by chance, a good reading plan is their secret. So how can I develop a good reading plan?    Well first, you see the word “develop” goes a long way, it means it’s not a one-time achievement. Diligence is all you need. In this a...
